As to the Nazi comment, they were facists, not socialists. Eastern Germany was the Deutsche Demokratische Republik or "German Democratic Republic", though I'm sure you'd agree it was not quite democratic. In much the same way, just cause the Nazi's called themselves socialists doesn't make the socialists. In fact Hitler hated Stalin and the socialist system of the USSR.

I hope you aren't losing faith in rugged individualism, free market economy, and small government though. Being disenchanted with the Republican party and becoming a hippy-liberal are two different things. I myself am becoming disenchanted with the current president whom I have supported and opposed at varying points in the presidency. Some of the things of which he speaks sound like things from a leftist-communist ruler, instead of someone from the party which supposedly stands for my previous points. The problem is... if you were to join the democrats, or greens, or libertarian, you'll find the exact same thing. Corruption, graft, and self-interest will be found in any places of power (as all power is fleeting,) which gives way to the next guy no matter what party he is.

I dunno what your beef is with them this time... if it's the post-Katrina situation or what. But self-responsibility and accountability is always of the utmost importance. I don't understand why it's always the federal government's responsibility to take care of every fucking citizen's every immediate need. It's the instant gratification, narcissistic, welfare society of the post-60's and 70's that caused those people to become wards of the state. For them to store clean water, food, and clothing, and stop living hand to mouth would obviously too difficult for them and they need pussy ass liberals in government to provide for them, since they think poor people are too stupid to do it themselves. Fuck that shit. If you want to lose faith in the GOP, fine... I understand where you're coming from. Don't lose faith in conservatism... or old world liberalism as it was at the founding of our nation.

Oh and the "heil bush" comment is retarded. Nazi = National Sozialismus --> national socialism

Funny, I just got this e-mail today from my mother... as an infant I was in a Barry Goldwater campaign in '64.

My mother is a true Republican and will never question the GOP, when Nixon came crashing down, she agreed with his antics. She always preached to me, I felt like I was a member of the Hitler youth. Heil Bush!

brownish/yellow with age. I'll mail them to you next week.

Nice, Nice, Nice! I agree with what you are saying, but Id be careful not to take it to an extreme. Extremes tend to cause 50 year old men to jump up on couches on the Oprah show. Two things Id recommend doing either way is 1.) Go see Batman Begins 2.) Ditch IE. Im a big fan of Blog sites and IE doesnt allow you to add the RSS feed in your bookmarks. I traded IE for the free Ideal Broswer which is based off of Mozilla Firefox and I love it. Its 100 times more secure and web pages load twice as fast. Not to mention that I can now add my favorite RSS feeds to my bookmarks. =-) You can check out the browser here www.Idealbrowser.com
